There is an event being conducted by Columbia University's Business school called "Why an MBA?" Details of the event: Tuesday, September 7th at 6:30 pm Low Memorial Library, Rotunda 535 West 116th Street (between Broadway and Amsterdam) New York, NY 10027 It would be useful event for anyone, myself included, debating whether to pursue a MBA and whether it's worth the time, money and effort. If feasible, I would be doing a live blog of the event, otherwise expect a comprehensive blog of the event later.

Google has now compiled their own internal courseware for their engineers and made them public. The code courses are geared towards C++, Java, Python and Go. So far, I've seen lots of video and real world examples on par with university level instruction. The format is exactly like a proctored lecture session. However, I recently found out a much cheaper way of doing the same thing, a service we use here at the library, called Pingdom, which charges $40 per month. It provides five che...

This challenge is much more than a game. Jeopardy! demands knowledge on a broad range of topics including history, literature, politics, film, pop culture and science. What's more, Jeopardy! clues involve irony, riddles, analyzing subtle meaning and other complexities at which humans excel and computers traditionally do not. This, along with the speed at which contestants have to answer, makes Jeop...

Etacts is a powerful tool for making sure you keep in touch with friends, family, and business associates who are important to you. Also some of the other mobile tools which I found useful were Syphir which would push the notifications on your iPhone for emails that are important and drawing your attention so that one can immediately respon...
