The Vialogues team is proud to announce the release of an updated Vialogues with new features and enhancements.
Some of the new features included in this release are:
- New User Interface.
- New look for embedded vialogues.
- Moderator comments are identified.
- Editing of comments are allowed
- Emails send when users comments.
We're looking forward to people using these and other features in a variety of educational/commerical settings. Thanks to the entire Vialogues team in getting this release out:

I found this tool really helpful in getting simple analytics of a search term.
I was going through Google search today and found that their realtime tab only lists out tweets or other realtime information about the search query.
I found it interesting that I could also schedule an alert which could be send to me on daily basis about top 10 discussants discussing about the search term.

While reading I came across this blogpost by Seth Godin who wrote "LinchPin", about the future of Library.
I hope people can take this opportunity to share their thoughts on what they think would happen in future (to librarians and libraries) and whether they agree with what Godin is prophesying.
I know this won't be breaking news by the time people read this post. But that is not the purpose of this post. I was using Livestream to get inspiration for new features we include in Vialogues when I saw President Obama declare that Osama bin Laden was dead.
I checked the NYTimes to verify.
My idea is to use LiveStream to do broadcasts on Vialogues since it would be distinct and useful. I eagerly await feedback on Tuesday at the D&R meeting.
I know its not "new" news about Google and Apple collecting data of their users. However here is the Wall Street journal article highlighting what's being done to address these issues.
I am sure most of you would have heard about the recent accident that happened at JFK Airport where Airbus A380 had a minor collision with a smaller aircraft.
I think this issue brings up new questions about
a) How these airports have to scale up for accommodating bigger aircrafts like A380, Boeing Dreamliner.
b) Also how to facilitate the checkin and checkout of not only people but also these aircrafts as the airports are already overloaded with the surge in air travel.
