Thank you all for an amazing year and a half at the 'Lab. You are all such treasures and it has been an incredible work experience to have shared with you. I may never know how the Millennials vs Gen Z conversation ends, or what makes the cut for the upcoming design event, or if the character Veronica will end up in a fulfilling life path. I shall always wonder. I am still in New York so please keep in touch. You can reach me at or follow my dog Francis at @francisthepoodle on insta (as far as I know he is not on snapchat or pinterest).

Last week Kim, Joann, Cinthia and I took the EdLab team through an immersive experience that showcased what we learned at the SATE Conference.  SATE is an annual event that focuses on the projects, trends and people in the world of Themed Entertainment. As SpaceX blasts off a car into space, headed toward Mars, the curtain begins to close on the “Out of this World” Mars experience in the Learning Theater. This March we are projected to send the final groups of colonists out to redder pastures. So it’s time to start thinking about what the next big edu-taining experience for the LT space might be. I spent some time pondering the future of the space and here is a pitch for a possible way to transform the 4th floor in the coming months.

You would think getting to Mars requires the expertise of a rocket scientist, but at Teachers College (TC) all it took was a dedicated team of designers, creatives, and technicians to launch out toward the Red Planet.  I want to share with you how we created one piece of technology for this immersive experience. But first, let me get you caught up on the mission.
