Rachel is the Assistant Research and Information Services Librarian at the Gottesman Libraries. You may have seen Rachel at the services desk. She began work with the Gottesman Libraries in the summer of 2015, and has since taken part in numerous curation projects and research guides. She has previously worked with countless members of the TC community as a Services Associate, assisting in finding materials, formulating reference queries, sharing resource recommendations, or just having a friendly chat as respite from a busy semester. Her philosophy is that there is joy in learning through collaboration, and she hopes to enact that wherever she goes.
Rachel is an MLIS candidate at Queens College with a focus on library media specialist certification. She hopes to one day work in a public school library, helping students discover the wonder of exploring information and supporting other teachers and administration in their classroom and curriculum needs. She believes in advocating for information literacy instruction for even the youngest learners - after all, knowledge is power, and exploration is the key that unlocks it!
