I vividly recall memories of my mother teaching me a language considered foreign to my native Ghana. I wondered why I had to learn several native languages but my mother constantly reminded me of how important it is to see learning as a path that leads to different avenues of opportunities. With this principle in mind since childhood, I have developed a lifelong interest in learning. I have also discovered that sometimes the best form of learning starts by simply identifying the opportunities around you and using that as a means of growth and development. As an aspiring educator, I am inspired by the work I do, which revolves around innovating new ideas and technology to create a more collaborative and inspiring space for learning, research, and development.
As an Innovation Fellow at EdLab, I work with my colleagues to delve into different methods of creating effective learning experiences at the Smith Learning Theater and the rest of the Gottesman Libraries. Aside my interest in learning, I have a passion for soccer. During my college career, I was fortunate to be crowned Scholar-Athlete of the Year in 2015 by the CUNY Athletic Conference. I am an avid fan of FC Barcelona.
