If anyone is looking for DVDs about education to put on their Netflix queue, I can recommend two movies I recently viewed. To Be and to Have
is a documentary about a one room school in rural France. In stark contrast to the almost bucolic nature of this film is The Boys of Baraka
a film about an experimental program that takes 6th and 7th grade boys from Baltimore City and puts them in a school in Kenya. Though the schooling offered in Kenya is ultimately disappointing, both DVDs should give one a lot to think about regarding education reform.
