If you're looking for ways to be here now and draw your focus to the present, the Gottesman Libraries has you covered.
If you need some peace and quiet, the third floor reading room is open for silent study again. The Mindful Lights installation is still on display in the Offit Gallery in case you feel like taking things slow and focusing on the soothing flow of your own motions. Feeling pressed for time but still want to find a moment of stillness? Try a short guided meditation. There are tons of sites and free apps that can lead you through breathing exercises, reflections, and self-awareness. We recommend The Quiet Place Project and Calm to get you started.
Once you've got your thoughts sorted out, you may feel ready to dive right into your work. One of our favorite librarian- and learner-tested approaches is the Pomodoro method (25 minutes of work, five minutes of break, repeat). Mytomatoes, an online Pomodoro timer, allows users to track their progress in order to focus on what needs to happen during the next work session.
