Gaming the next big industry in NYC?
Interesting discussion on Brian Lehrer this morning: Tara Colton from the Center for an Urban Future describes how NYC has several opportunities to further expand into the video gaming industry. The report can be found here. Although the market is much smaller than the Bay area or Seattle, she argues that there are many more indie gaming outfits (much like the indie movie making outfits) in the City than in other US cities. However, one limitation of this area growing is the cost of doing business in NY, as well as a more conservative investment class, especially with respect to technology.
