My TA is a Computer?!

Mining and harvesting information for lesson plans and curriculums is a full time job for teachers. What if every teacher had a personal assistant helping with curriculum and lesson plan creation while keeping tabs on new education trends with fundamentals in mind? Please meet Watson, IBM’s supercomputer aka personal teacher assistant. Watson can pull together standards, assessment questions, sample lesson plans for a single teacher, a group, or the community at large. IBM plans to provide the technology to all teachers free of charge.

IBM makes it very clear that replacing the teacher is not their ultimate goal. The goal is to provide resources and content, allowing teachers to become the best educators they can be. Technology is not here to replace humans and jobs, it’s here to assist us in reaching our greatest potential.
