Almost a decade ago we embarked on a similar project, albeit on a much smaller scale, by analyzing syllabi at Teachers College. Ultimately, we were unable to get all the syllabi so we ended up examining course reading requested via DocDel instead. The result was Pundit, a course recommendation tool. Instead of recommending courses based on the course title and description, the system recommended courses based on the actual course readings.
There are so many interesting projects that could emerge from the Open Syllabus Project. What research question would you pose?
