I recently came across an ad claiming I could learn everything in an MBA program in one class:
I thought this had to be fake but then I saw it was being offered on Udemy (with over 200K enrolled).
The "course" has 15 sessions with 51 lessons. It includes:
- 8 hours on-demand video
- 33 articles
- 65 downloadable resources
- Full lifetime access
- Access on mobile and TV
- Certificate of Completion
For $10.99, you have lifetime access to the course. The only requirement is "a positive attitude! : )."
Are there resources like this in the teacher education domain? If no, is it only a matter of time before there are?
Before you say "never" take a look at this story from the Atlantic titled, The Deconstruction of the K-12 Teacher: When kids can get their lessons from the Internet, what's left for classroom instructors to do?
What does this mean for teacher education and certification?
