AI and Algorithmic Accountability

As artificial intelligence becomes a more important part of the sytems we rely on for conducting business, the need for standards to guarantee accountability will grow.  A recent article reviews both the approach to such accountability adopted by IBM and the Principles for Algorithmic Transparency and Accountability adopted by the Associatio for Computing Machinery.  

What do you think of these standards and policies?  Do they provide enough accountability?  Are there other steps you would like to see taken?
