In my native Ecuador, students report to school typically by 7:30AM. Tardy students are sent home. The workload is more demanding and exams are far more frequent. Like the United States, Ecuador is also adjusting to a new government, which often comes with a change in approach to education and other policies. Lenin Moreno, president elect of Ecuador and Donald Trump both have their ideas about furthering education. Trump wants to eliminate the Common Core and reduced priced lunch, and give more control to parents over their children's education. Moreno, on the other hand, wants to revise admissions exams and open community colleges for students who do not achieve competent scores for universities. Though they have different visions for education, they agree on one thing: improving education.
