The International Students Dilemma
Education and technology have created avenues for easy access to global education. Most Western countries experience an influx of international students who have an aim of learning a different culture while gaining a quality education. The U.S is one of the main destinations of many international students across the globe in search of education and greener pastures. This article sheds more light on the recruiting process for international students and how marketing strategies are gradually luring students into paying for universities where they are not likely to succeed. Companies and agents advertise to universities to target prospective international students. Many professors have raised their concerns about this system. They have called for a remedy that will ensure that international students actually meet the school's standards when they apply for and most importantly they have a good chance of succeeding. As if adapting to a new university is not hectic enough, international students have to deal with adapting to a new country and education system.
