Should Fans Be Allowed To Pay College Athletes?
Being a student athlete, especially in college, requires a lot of commitment and discipline. We sometimes go straight from practice to the classroom. At large institutions, being an athlete comes with added pressure from fans, and media due to the publicity. Add to this the commercialization of student athletes and the chorus for paying them continues to increase by the day. Since the NCAA and school administrators don’t seem intent on paying college athletes, fans have taken the initiative and some are crowd funding to pay their fellow schoolmates.
