Student Athlete Prepared to Sue NCAA
The NCAA is responsible for determining the eligibility of collegiate student athletes. Students are required to maintain a good academic standing in order to be cleared to play sports at the college level. Tacko Fall, a freshman at the University of Florida is planning to sue the NCAA for refusing to clear him to play basketball. Fall moved to the United States from Senegal in search of greener pastures. Fall attended high school for two years where he maintained good grades while excelling on the basketball court. Fall's dream of going to college has come true but his goal of playing college basketball is slowly dying. With just a few days before the college basketball season tipoff, Fall has yet to be cleared to play by the NCAA. NCAA officials have yet to comment on this issue. This is yet another black eye for the NCAA. Recent scandals at Miami, USC and North Carolina have put the organization and its handling of student athletes firmly in the spotlight. We wait to see how they deal with this one.
