Prototyping Exercise
Nara, Reindorf, Laura, Rebecca: Yes, our model looks like a traditional classroom, but our idea is to create a class that teaches empathy and helps teachers step into the shoes of their students. We started with the focus on special education teachers - we can recreate what it's like for a student to take a class with a specific learning disability. This could also be used for the many psychology students at TC. Teachers College students can step into the classroom and put themselves in the shoes of their potential patients - what is it like to be a student with ADHD? We don't think technology alone is going to change the traditional classroom but technology can help teach other values too.
